Confessions of an Integrity Intern

I’m the newbie, and this is my account of what it’s really like to work for the most kick ass web agency in St. Louis (pardon my French…)
I’m a rising senior at Emory University, majoring in art history and visual arts. But what the heck does that have to do with the web? Honestly, nothing. Art history and visual arts are a passion of mine, however, I don’t see it as my career (should I break that news to my parents yet, i.e. tuition costs?!) So what do I want to be when I grow up? Well…still unsure, but thinking my next career move is in marketing.
So, I figured, why not market myself?
I Googled “digital agency stl,” and found Integrity as “St. Louis’ leading digital agency.” I immediately picked up the phone. CCO, Ed Morrissey answered…I gave him my pitch, and BOOM! Ed invited me to Integrity for an interview. Walking-in, I was nervous and hoped my impulsive instincts would pay off. My first impression of the employees, office culture and projects equaled pure awesomeness. I observed instantly that these talented people not only work hard and but they play hard too (see: foosball table, karaoke machine and FroYo field trips in The Loop). This is my kind of place.
A few weeks in….so far so good. I’ve lost a game or two of Foosball, learned how to create the skeleton of a website in a program called MockFlow and assisted Project Managers in building site maps for clients. I assisted Ed with research and, since this is a confession blog, I’ll reveal that I endured the unofficial hazing my first week…kitchen duty.
Thanks for that one Ed!
