A look back at some of our favorite 2018 projects
2018 was one for the books for our St. Louis web development company. We've partnered with fantastic clients, added awesome employees to the Integri-team and tackled a ton of exciting projects. (2018 may or may not have also included the addition of a beer fridge to the office.)
With 2019 getting into full swing, we wanted to take a look back at just a few of the projects we conquered last year.
BJC, one of the largest health care organizations in the U.S., was in need of an agency of record to maintain the network's 80 DNN websites on 14 servers. They were also looking for a team to design and develop cutting-edge technology solutions to improve the overall patient experience.
In the first year of a three-year agreement, we resolved hundreds of tickets while simultaneously launching six new websites as well as a number of customized apps and landing pages, and providing SEO and content support. The Integrity team works closely with BJC IS and marketing departments through daily online interactions, phone calls and by sharing office space. As the St. Louis area's — and one of Missouri's — biggest employers and providers of health care, BJC presents unique challenges and opportunities in user experience design and custom development for the Integrity team. We're loving every minute of it!
Our mission is to take SES, a multi-generational market leader, from a traditional brick-and-mortar-focused B2B wholesaler to a modernized, omni channel distributor. Integrity is creating an extension of the branch experience using Magento's Enterprise Cloud Edition, Splinter's multiple web automation, and Infor Distribution ERP API integrations.
Magento is ranked second by Inc. Magazine as a best-in-class e-commerce platform, but lack of documentation and architecture challenges have added complexity to this project.
The upside? Integrity now has the largest and most experienced Magento development team east of I-270. This project could be one of the most fulfilling initiatives our team has ever taken on as we are helping good people and a good company — stuck in paper and manual processes — by providing them with a market-leading e-commerce experience and a roadmap to reinvent itself in the digital age.
Our goal was to create an updated, mobile-optimized and integrated experience to replace Tacony's current Sewing and Craft Club online presence. The redesigned websites will modernize Koala, Madeira and Klasse's digital footprint; drive visitors to retailer locations; provide product configuration functionality; and better define and differentiate brand positioning.
Despite the challenges of having a preexisting customized CMS platform as the foundation for Integrity's work, we have succeeded in delivering exactly what was promised. After collaborating with the Tacony team to figure out the best way to communicate and work efficiently, we are now aligned and operating as a cohesive team with a common goal.
The WRC Group
Not only were we tasked by the Wisconsin Reinsurance Corporation Group (better known as the WRC Group) to give their public-facing marketing site a much-needed transformation, they also engaged us to update their separate, document-focused website that assists their staff and agents each day. We took on a significant discovery effort and created custom database import scripts, as well as updating the site architecture both in the CMS and on the front end to create an improved user experience for site visitors and website administrators.
Despite roadblocks, we were able to increase user security without sacrificing user experience. The previous codebase was very brittle and loaded with technical debt. We started from scratch and built based on user interviews and needs. Building these two digital products at once for a client was a tremendous effort that could only be pulled off with great teamwork and frequent communication between Integrity and the WRC team.
After launching the corporate site in early January of 2018, Alberici came back to Integrity for several additional projects. They needed an intuitive way for their large, complexly-structured company to manage content and access it themselves. This led to a custom-built WordPress intranet site with specific user access rules and functionality. Beyond the continued support on those two digital properties, the Integrity team is in progress on two new WP sites set to launch this fall!
In the end, we made multiple third-party integrations, including the company's custom API. We continue to offer support and business analysis, including recommendations for new digital efforts and avenues to grow their business. Alberici is a St Louis icon with an international reputation for excellence and a talented team that have been a consistent pleasure to partner with.
Bayer: America's Farmers
America's Farmers, a nonprofit supported by the Monsanto Fund (a philanthropic arm of Bayer) had an existing buggy and overly-engineered site. We rebuilt the site from the ground up in order to avoid technical debt. We worked closely with Monsanto IP to track down issues with their API and completed a very complicated Salesforce integration. There were various program state changes throughout the lifecycle of the project, but our team powered through and launched a successful website!
Since the launch of the rebuild, we've taken on the site's ongoing support, including the implementation of an SEO program. We successfully rebuilt the website in WordPress, making it far easier for their internal team to manage content and eliminating the source of the site's previous issues.
These are just a few of the many projects we crushed in 2018; it was a terrific year full of many accomplishments for our web development company. Informatics, interfaces, brands, websites, e-commerce, marketing - if it's online, we did it! We feel proud that so many major brands across all industries trust our team to not only deliver the best experiences and products, but continually set new standards for what "the best" means.
While 2018 was amazing, 2019 is already looking like it's set to be our most exciting and successful year yet. With the recent acquisition of Weintraub Advertising and the addition of their talented team to our own, we're elevating the services we offer to our clients and developing more omnichannel strategies. Stay tuned to see what we're taking on in 2019!
