Using WordPress to create a manageable website for local non-profit Santa’s Helpers, Inc.
A lot of people think WordPress is simply a blog-site creation tool, but it can do far more than provide a framework for creating a trendy personal website. WordPress is a powerful platform that allows the developer to create a manageable system for the client looking for a user experience upgrade. That’s why it was chosen to be the perfect technology to build a system for local non-profit organization, Santa’s Helpers.
Santa’s Helpers, Inc., an organization all about bringing the holidays to children who would not get one, was in need of a web-presence overhaul. The intern team here at Integrity has been hard at work researching, designing, and developing a new face for Santa’s Helpers, Inc. Before any development began, the team decided that WordPress would be the ideal technology to power this project, as it provides an easy-to-use system to help with content management post-launch.
WordPress is what is known as a content management system (CMS). A CMS is simply a system that allows the creation of a site that can then be easily managed and updated as necessary. For developers, this means crafting smart code that will allow for the site, when delivered, to be easily maintained and updated without the client needing to know code. WordPress does this by providing a well-crafted visual back-end that guides the client in adding new content to continue to elevate their business or organization on the web.
WordPress, as a technology, is as robust as the developer wants it to be. For Santa’s Helpers, Inc., it’s the perfect technology to allow their new product to be maintained and updated repeatedly without being a developer. Check out Santa's Helpers's newly launched website.
