Did you know stories are scientifically proven to get a person’s attention and stimulate brain activity? So, let’s get those neurons firing with your brand! Simply put, brand storytelling is all about using a narrative to connect your brand to customers, while highlighting what you stand for and shared values with your customer.

What’s important when creating yours? Well, we know that a story in general includes characters, setting, conflict, rising action, climax, and falling action/resolution. Creating these major points within your content and marketing strategies helps your audience easily follow along, gaining their trust along the way. But the most important element is the main character. The main character is not you, but your customer. YOUR CUSTOMER IS THE HERO WITHIN THE PLOT, and it must be this way to make your story worth telling.

Your brand is more than just a logo or product – it’s your own narrative that needs to be told in an engaging way, while taking the reader on a journey. Focus on embodying the values of your company and incorporating those themes into all facets of storytelling – from visuals to text. Authenticity should take precedence over any other story elements; readers will forgive small errors much easier than they would lack of honesty and credibility. It’s not about why your products exist, but about why does your business exist at all? When you attract customers through shared values, their loyalty increases because they can truly identify with your business and what you stand for. Your story then becomes your company strategy, which will take your brand to new heights.

Remember consistency when creating posts for social media profiles – this applies both visually and in terms of messaging themes used throughout each post and promotion campaign. If you want to reach the ultimate goal of brand storytelling, take your business’ reason for existence and tell that same story through all social media, blogs, advertisements, videos, and more.

In short, brand storytelling does more than creating strong marketing strategy and audience connection. Not only does the core of your company strategy guide your story for your customer, but for your team as well, giving every member a why. This gives your business true purpose, which will drive you forward.
